A Sony Alpha A700 Camera Review

Since Konica Minolta has pulled out of the digital SLR industry, Sony was quick to take its place in the market. The latter company was able to acquire the technology and designs of the former and with that, has released the new line of digital SLRs known as the Sony Alpha series. Sony has first released digital SLR cameras either based mostly on Konica Minolta’s designs or literal repackaged versions of Konica Minolta’s former cameras. But what’s really good about Sony is the fact that they can turn something good into something even better. This was the case when they released the Alpha A700 Camera.
The A700 however still carries the looks of a Konica Minolta camera, which means it still is very loyal to its heritage. The design may still be comparable to the former company but it has been tweaked by Sony in order to make it look even more appealing. For the former owners of a Konica Minolta, they will find that a closer inspection of the Sony Alpha A700 , they will find it particularly familiar. The main difference between Sony’s cameras is that it has become at par with other top of the line digital SLR cameras in the market.
One of the most familiar features of the A700 Camera is its lens mount. This is the typical mount used by Minolta. Other similarities are said to be the construction and sensor. On the other hand, there are a ton of new things to look for with this Sony Digital Camera.
First of all, the chassis and the body of the A700 are made of aluminium and magnesium respectively. This makes it slightly lighter than using other materials and stronger. It has two slots for two different memory cards, the Sony memory stick and a Compact Flash card. Another huge feature is an HDTV output from the camera.
The Sony Alpha A700 Camera also makes use of a high speed shutter design, faster focusing, a new auto focus sensor, optical pentaprism and of course, anti blur technology based on the original Konica Minolta design. Most of these designs were learned from Konica Minolta but it was redesigned and reconfigured by Sony in order to be competitive with the leading brands. With the acquisition of Minolta by Sony, they have changed the industry forever and they are now one of the best choices for digital SLR camera users.

Almost every family has a Camera buff who loves to take pictures and mine is no exception. Taking great pictures used to be difficult for a beginner. But now with digital cameras it is a snap taking great photos since with most cameras you can look at the image and decide to take another or keep the first.
