Canon A530 has 5.0 megapixels of resolution or imaging power and 4x optical zoom. With 4x optical zoom, one can capture a wide variety of shots. It is compact and light in weight and hence portable. It is 3.56 inches wide, 2.52 inches high and 1.70 inches deep with weight of 6.00oz (only body). It’s high ISO setting which goes up to 800 helps in reducing effects of camera shake. Moreover, in low light situations, its high ISO settings and high shutter speed makes your subject sharpen.
It consists of Canon's DIGIC II Image Processor that improves processing speed and image quality. While using canon A530 one can record VGA (640 x 480) at 10 frames per second (fps) or QVGA (320 x 240) movies at 20 frames per second with sound. Moreover, using Compact Movie Mode, one can shoot QQVGA (160 x 120) at 15 fps.
Digital zoom is also available while recording a movie. It provides you additional 17 shooting modes, along with Special Scene mode. Using this camera pictures can be shoot in the widescreen resolution option (2592x1456). Furthermore, it encompasses built-in Flash with Red-Eye Reduction system.
